There is a lot of very important and time sensitive information in this month's newsletter, so please read it entirely. As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. ***We need a FINAL COUNT for our "Generation Change" Series by Dave Ramsey. Any student seriously interested ($10 fee for student kit) please let me by TONIGHT (either in person or by emailing me back) so we can order the correct amount of materials. Every student WILL NEED a student kit to participate. We are tentatively planning on starting the series at the beginning of September on Sunday mornings at 9am.

GENERATION CHANGE Series by Dave Ramsey
Taught on video by personal money-management expert Dave Ramsey, *Generation Change* is an entertaining  and informative Bible study for youth that shows today’s students how money really works, how God views money, and how they can grow into financially responsible young adults. Check out this video for a short introduction.

Every day, our youth are bombarded with a million different voices—everything from billboards to internet ads—telling them who they are and measuring their worth by what they have. The pressure to be accepted in today's "stuff-centered" world drives them, and perhaps even their parents, to throw money away on things that don't matter—all in an attempt to "be somebody." As a result, we're raising a generation that spends money they don't have to buy things they don't need to impress people they don't even like! It's time for a change!

*Generation Change* is taught by Dave Ramsey on DVD. You'll begin the class with the 10-15 minute video, then move to a time of discussion using questions outlined in the student journals. This is followed by activities that illustrate the lesson for the day.

Lesson 1: The Value of You: In this lesson, students will recognize the value they have in God’s eyes. They will understand that God, not stuff, defines them.

Lesson 2: Materialism Mayhem: In this session, Dave uncovers and explains the dangers of credit. He discusses how teens can protect themselves while changing their family tree forever!

Lesson 3: Money Minds: In this lesson, students will gain the tools to make wise purchases, learn how to manage money using a simple envelope system, and understand the importance of saving.

Lesson 4: The Gift of Giving: Dave teaches the biblical truth that giving is a spiritual act of worship. Students will understand how giving is vital to their financial and spiritual well-being.

6th Graders Moving Up!!!
We want to say a special WELCOME to all of the students entering LEGACY this year as 6th Graders. We are so excited to get to know all of you and see God move in your life!

SUMMER REACH
(Formerly called SUMMER RAGE)
Wednesday, August 3rd- Wednesday, August 31st
We have changed the name of our youth summer program from Summer RAGE to Summer REACH. The goal is to change our focus from inward to outward. We felt a call to REACH out to our community by taking 4 of our Wednesday night services and going out in the city of St. Clair Shores. Each of our "Starting Point" groups will be facilitating one of the nights and leading the rest of our group out to make a difference in our neighborhood. Each student will need 1 permission slip for the month to participate.

Church Baptism and Picnic
Sunday, August 21st @ 9am
Please join us for our annual Baptism and Picnic at Stoney Creek. Any student interested in being baptized, please sign up at the welcome center. We will be having a mandatory Baptism Class the Sunday before (August 14th) at 9am in the Legacy Backroom taught by Pastor Lori. If you have any questions regarding Baptism, please see Pastor Lori (Parents or Students).

I would like to invite EVERY JH and HS LEGACY STUDENT AND PARENT to an LEGACY Student Ministries Update Meeting the last Sunday of August at 9am. I am going to give some information on our new IMPACT Team this year, our over-seas mission trip this summer and other various things happening this fall. Please make every effort to attend, as this will be one of the only times we will make our IMPACT applications available.

CHAMPIONS FOR LIFE Kids' Camp: THE CREW
Month of July
Well, CFL was again a success thanks to the Lord and His handiwork!
THE CREW both weeks did a phenomenal job and I am still getting emails and calls from adults blown away by the students heart of servanthood and their ability to minister to the kids at camp. Thanks to everyone who participated!!!

Prayer Requests for July:

• Keep the kids from CFL in your prayers, that the Lord would continue to the work He started at camp
• For all of the students getting ready to wind down the summer, that God would give them opportunity to minister at their jobs, their sports events and their neighborhoods.
• For SUMMER REACH: that our hearts would be broken for the city of SCS.
